Source access and document rights¶
OpenCorpFilings retrieves individual public records from their source. Its MIT license covers this library's code, not filings, taxonomies, logos or other material returned by a provider. Users retain the source URL and original metadata so they can attribute a record and assess their own downstream use. The package does not redistribute a filing corpus or bundle source documents.
This is a source-policy snapshot reviewed on 2026-10-07, not a grant of rights or a substitute for the current source terms.
| Source | Access rule relevant to this library | Document-use distinction |
|---|---|---|
| SEC EDGAR | Declare an identifying User-Agent with contact information, download only what is needed and stay below the SEC's current aggregate 10 requests/second fair-access limit. | The library links to SEC originals and does not bundle them. |
| Companies House | The public Find and update site can be viewed without registration and is used for individual filings when no key is supplied; it is not intended for bulk downloads. The optional REST and Document APIs require an API key; respect their current rate limit. | Companies House permits use of public-register information but advises users to consider possible third-party copyright in filed material. See its public-task and copyright statement. The code license does not relicense filed accounts. |
| Open DART | Use a user-issued key under the Open DART API terms; API availability and request limits are source-controlled. Korean-name and exact stock-code lookup query one bounded official DART company-selector page, with source pacing and an official registry fallback if the selector structure changes. The authenticated company API verifies a selected stock code; exact corporation-code search queries that profile directly. | The package fetches original disclosures for the requesting user; it makes no blanket claim that those reports can be redistributed. |
| EDINET | Obtain content through the API, pace requests and avoid short-period mass access. EDINET may change or restrict its service. | EDINET's site content is generally under Public Data License 1.0, subject to exclusions. Attribute EDINET with the source URL. Label extracted or edited content as processed by the user or OpenCorpFilings; do not present it as unchanged agency output. The EDINET taxonomy has separate intellectual-property terms and is not bundled. |
| filings.xbrl.org ESEF index | The central index is a secondary, incomplete source of ESEF records and may change its API terms or limits. | Source packages and derived xBRL-JSON can carry issuer and taxonomy material; the package only retrieves selected records. Preserve the original filing and index URLs when reusing output. |
| France Info-Financiere OAM | The official DILA/AMF portal publishes records through an open API. Query by exact LEI, use bounded pages and retrieve individual original attachments. | The portal's reuse terms require attribution to DILA, the download URL, the downloaded filename and the file date. The library preserves these fields and does not redistribute attachments. |
| Finland OAM | The public search form supports issuer/category/date queries; the library uses bounded searches and individual notice attachments. Nasdaq's general terms may also apply to this OAM portal; confirm scope before public distribution. | Preserve the OAM notice, attachment ID, original filename and publication time. Filed reports remain issuer material; the MIT code license does not relicense them. |
| Spain CNMV annual reports | The dedicated IFA search exposes dated annual-report records and individual PDF/ESEF ZIP links. The library queries a named issuer NIF and a bounded date interval. | Preserve the CNMV record number, report period, publication date and original document link. The code license does not relicense issuer filings. |
| Sweden Finanscentralen | The public name and registration-number forms expose source issuers; each company page has paginated annual, interim and quarterly tables with individual source-file links. The adapter follows bounded source pages only as needed and downloads one selected file. FI's open-data guidance says FI data may be reused with FI and date credited. | Preserve FI, retrieval date, registration number, report-period label and file URL/ID. The site does not expose a filing date in these tables; the code license does not relicense issuer report content. |
| Poland KNF OAM | The public KNF search exposes issuer reports, local receipt time, form code, correction flag and an individual original package. Search is bounded by page count and uses an exact source issuer name. KNF's public-sector information reuse page describes free reuse of KNF website information with URL attribution; it does not establish a blanket license for every issuer report. | Preserve the KNF record, issuer name, native form code, receipt date/time, original package URL and nested archive path. The MIT code license does not relicense issuer material. |
| Nasdaq Iceland/Lithuania OAM | Retired 2026-10-09: no adapter ships. Nasdaq directs each market to a separate public country portal. The retired adapter searched one selected issuer with bounded pages and retrieved one chosen attachment, reading annual category IDs from that issuer's source options. Nasdaq's general legal terms broadly restrict automated content capture and third-party use; their application to these OAM portals needs an access decision before any future adapter. | Preserve the country portal, source notice ID, category label and ID, publication time and original attachment URL/ID. Issuer reports and taxonomies are not relicensed by this package. |
| Austria OeKB OAM | OeKB advertises public original documents and issuer/LEI/ISIN/date search, including annual and half-year ESEF. Its legal notice restricts unauthorized third-party database use. No national adapter is included pending an authorized service route. | The independent ESEF index is a separate source; its access does not grant rights to OeKB's database. |
| Belgium FSMA STORI | STORI describes PDF disclosures and annual ZIP/XHTML/PDF files. Its published conditions allow reproduction with attribution only for noncommercial purposes. No national adapter is included pending a source-access decision for the intended use. | The independent ESEF index is a separate source; keep original FSMA links and source labels distinct. |
| Slovenia Ljubljana OAM | The public OAM lists source-classified annual notices and individual attachments. LJSE's linked access conditions restrict commercial use and reproduction of site content without written consent. Their application to automated OAM access needs review before distributing a national adapter. | The independent ESEF index remains separate. The source filing and attachments are issuer material, not relicensed by this code. |
| Romania ASF OAM | Retired 2026-10-09: no adapter ships. The public source form supports exact CUI and annual-periodicity filtering; the retired adapter followed bounded sorted result pages and retrieved one selected original file. The portal states ASF is not responsible for issuer report content. No general reuse grant was found in this bounded review. | Preserve CUI, ISIN, source document title/ID, original URL, report-year label, local publication display and upload type. The code license does not relicense the issuer file. |
| Latvia Bank of Latvia CSRI | Retired 2026-10-09: no adapter ships. The official public portal exposes LEI/issuer filtering, native annual categories and individual attachment links. The official FAQ describes it as a public regulated-information store. No specific automated-use or redistribution grant was found in this bounded review; recheck source terms before any future adapter. The retired adapter used bounded pages and one selected attachment at a time. | Preserve LEI or source name, notice ID, category, publication time, version, language and each original attachment URL. The MIT code license does not relicense issuer reports. |
| Croatia HANFA OAM | Retired 2026-10-09: no adapter ships. The official public table has an issuer selector, native annual category and individual file links. The retired adapter used bounded issuer-scoped pages. HANFA's site footer reserves rights and issuer reports can contain their own copyright restrictions; no blanket redistribution grant is inferred. Review source terms before any future adapter. | Preserve HANFA issuer ID, native category, receipt time, report-year label, correction text and each original file URL. One observed source link is malformed (datum] in its path); the retired adapter kept the link in listings, while a failed download remained a source error. |
| Netherlands AFM financial reporting | The public register exposes issuer-filtered metadata export, individual detail records and original-file links. The adapter requires an exact issuer name, bounds metadata count and fetches one selected original. AFM's website terms require explicit AFM attribution when website information is copied or distributed. | Preserve AFM record ID, native document type, filing date/time, raw report year, original filename and download URL. The library's MIT license does not relicense issuer documents. |
| Denmark Danish FSA OAM | The regulator embeds a public GoPublic search with issuer and filing-type filters, direct announcement detail IDs and individual original links. The adapter uses bounded source pages and one selected document at a time. Danish FSA terms place use of public source content at the user's responsibility and prohibit bypassing security or unnecessarily burdening the service. | Preserve the native announcement ID, source business ID and LEI where exposed, publication and registration times, source category, each original file URL and language label. The source issuer list can contain non-Danish business-ID prefixes; market="DK" selects the portal, not an issuer domicile claim. The code license does not relicense filings. |
| Slovakia NBS CERI and CERI 2 | Retired 2026-10-09: no adapter ships. NBS says CERI 2 receives new submissions from 10 July 2026 and CERI retains earlier records. The retired adapter used source-listed issuers, bounded issuer-filtered searches and one selected original at a time, with a one-second request interval. CERI 2's robots file disallows crawlers from /api/; confirm the intended on-demand API access route before any future adapter. |
NBS website terms permit reuse of website information with attribution and without modifying the original file, but issuer-file rights remain separate. Preserve NBS attribution, generation, LEI/ICO, source category, native file ID, original URL, publication time and original bytes. |
| Estonia Finantsinspektsioon OAM | Retired 2026-10-09: no adapter ships. The public issuer/category/date search has individual notice IDs and original attachment links. The retired adapter used bounded issuer-scoped pages and downloaded one chosen document. Its robots file does not disallow the public notice or attachment paths. Finantsinspektsioon's terms restrict reproduction and distribution without permission; determine their application before any future adapter. | Preserve source issuer ID/name, notice ID, raw category, local submission clock, original attachment URL and each nested signed-package path. The source clock has no explicit time zone. Filed reports and signatures are issuer content; the code license does not relicense them. |
| Czech National Bank storage | The official description includes annual and half-yearly issuer reports. Its linked OAM application refused a direct HTTPS connection during the 2026-10-07 check, so no national adapter or source-file path is verified. CNB site terms allow CNB Internet information use with attribution and exceptions for authored content. | CNB website terms do not establish a blanket license for issuer filings. Recheck the live application, individual source links and document rights before adding a national route. |
| Portugal CMVM annual accounts | The public portal displayed issuer-filtered, dated ESEF/PDF rows in a prior live review. A later direct request returned its JavaScript shell, while a controlled browser run did not render the records and one auxiliary CMVM endpoint returned HTTP 403. The original-file route, pagination and intended automated-use terms remain unverified; no national adapter is included. | The independent ESEF index is a separate source. Its records do not establish the rights or original-file path for the CMVM portal or the issuer reports. |
| Malta Stock Exchange OAM | Retired 2026-10-09: no adapter ships. The public site has an issuer selector, year-filtered announcements and selected original XHTML/ZIP/PDF links. Its website terms permit use, saving and reproduction of site information with source attribution and no alteration, but reserve third-party intellectual property and prohibit linking the site to another site without prior written permission. The retired adapter retrieved one selected original at a time, preserved source attribution and did not rehost documents. Review the linking clause and issuer rights before any future adapter. | Preserve source issuer code/name, announcement PDF code, original description, local displayed publication time, market label and each original href. The source uses literal backslashes in some ESEF hrefs; the retired adapter normalized those for HTTP while retaining the original href. The MIT code license does not relicense issuer filings. |
| LuxSE OAM | Public OAM issuer/ISIN/CSSF search and source documents exist. LuxSE website terms restrict commercial use and distribution of information; its documents license explicitly covers commercial document access/use and redistribution. No national adapter is included without an authorized route. | An independent ESEF index is a separate source and does not grant rights to LuxSE's OAM data or documents. |
| Cyprus Stock Exchange public OAM | Retired 2026-10-09: no adapter ships. The official site exposes issuer and filing JSON searches, native annual/half-year/quarterly categories and attached original files. Its linked CSE website terms address privacy and site use; the footer reserves rights, and no general issuer-document reuse grant was found in this review. Any future adapter requires a source-rights decision. | The fetch-files?listingVersionId=... response embeds all attachment bytes as base64, so enumeration downloads every file. The retired adapter limited the full response to 50 MB by default and kept decoded originals on the filing's document objects. Preserve issuer, filing, translation, native category, publication, correction and attachment IDs. |
| Hungary MNB Capital Market Disclosure System | Retired 2026-10-09: no adapter ships. The MNB describes its public OAM as free to view, search, save and print. Its site notice permits use of information subject to accuracy, stating transformations and unframed linking. It says the publisher is responsible for submitted content; this does not itself establish a blanket issuer-document license. Any future adapter needs a public-use review. | Preserve exact public issuer name, direct K.../year record ID, source subtype/title, displayed unzoned publication clock, institution number when the detail supplies it, each original file ID/URL, name and source language. The retired adapter's search used one name token and checked exact issuer equality, failing closed at its 200-result default cap. |
| Liechtenstein FMA OAM | Retired 2026-10-09: no adapter ships. The FMA issuer guidance identifies the regulated-market issuer category as its public OAM. The FMA legal notice permits storing, passing on and reproducing information from its site and subsites if it is not altered and the source is cited. The retired adapter requested individual original PDFs from the register's public API. | Keep FMA issuer ID, LEI/register number, OAM record ID, both source language-slot file IDs where present, original filename and file endpoint. The source does not expose a filing/publication date for these records; the retired adapter never represented report-year labels as filing dates. The code license does not relicense issuer PDFs. |
| Euronext Athens financial data | The public page offers issuer, report-period, PDF and ESEF selectors and direct PDF links. Its published terms limit use of site content to personal information and restrict commercial use. No national adapter is included pending an authorized access/use route. The original ESEF package path has not been verified. | The independent GR ESEF index route is a distinct source and does not grant rights to Athens data or documents. Preserve the native report title, period, source date and original document URL if an authorized national route is later added. |
| Norway NewsWeb | Its published rights notice restricts non-private downloading/storage without a separate agreement. The package does not include an automated NewsWeb national adapter pending an authorized route. | The independent ESEF index may have Norwegian filing copies; that does not grant rights to reuse NewsWeb's database or attachments. |
| Italy eMarket Storage | Its published disclaimer limits content use to personal/non-commercial purposes and requires explicit consent for reproduction. No automated national adapter is included pending an authorized route. | The independent ESEF index may contain Italian filing copies; that does not grant rights to eMarket's site content. The second ESMA-listed Italian operator, 1Info, needs separate review. |
| Ireland Euronext Dublin OAM | Central Bank guidance identifies Euronext Dublin as the OAM. Euronext's published website terms restrict automated navigation and systematic retrieval without written permission. Their scope for Euronext Direct and an authorized national API route need confirmation; no national adapter is included. | A separate ESEF-index record may be available for an Irish issuer, but does not establish access or document-use rights for Euronext Direct. No original Euronext OAM document bytes were verified in this review. |
| HKEX | Automated access remains gated on an authorized route. | No HKEX adapter or source corpus is distributed in the 1.0 release. |
Provider request pacing is a per-client safeguard, not a global quota manager.
If several processes or products share an account or IP address, their combined
traffic must stay within the source's limits. Authentication values should be
provided through environment variables or explicit constructor arguments and
must never be committed or printed.
The optional local response cache stores bounded individual GET results in a
user-chosen directory for five minutes by default. It honors source no-store
and shorter freshness instructions, and does not bundle cached records with
the library. Users control storage and removal of their local cache.
filing.text() and filing.facts are transformations of source material. Their
provenance points back to the original filing/document and does not imply that
the regulator produced the transformed representation.
Optional PDF text preserves the original document URL and page number. Empty
text on an image-only page is not evidence that the page contains no content.
